Japan govt considers debt reduction as new budget goal - report
The new goal would aim to lower the debt balance, in line with policies followed by European nations, the business daily said. In the year to March 2007, Japan's budget deficit accounted for more than 3 pct of nominal GDP, while the overall debt balance amounted to over 150 pct of GDP, it said.
